Not long after the destruction of humans, a new world with a new government forms in the Society. The High Authority gives out the Exam yearly to eighteen-year-olds to see which ones are fit, smart, and pretty enough to reproduce, thus creating three categories they are tested on: Beauty, Strength, and Intelligence. Those who rank the best get to have an experience of a lifetime: they are taken to a camp where they mate with the person of the opposite gender who has the same rank and are not required to do any labor.
