Her whole life, Artemis has known that the creatures that lurk in the woods were the enemy. That hunting them was called a noble profession from where they came from. She wasn't like all the other girls in the village who only cared about their reflection. She wanted to hunt these things that supposedly were the things sneaking in at night and killing or kidnapping the people of the village, like her mother.
Her mother died hunting these demons so when she goes into the woods alone to bring back a prize, she doesn't expect for one to follow her. She grows fond of the thing and once she realizes she can't hide her demon, as the villagers called them, she goes to find the legacy her mother left for her. This leads her to a city where demons are your friend, and an old tale is bat so outlandish anymore.
These two places seem like two whole different realities, and you have no idea how right that could be...
This is a tale of how hunters can become the hunted.

In the reckoning of the hunt

7 parts Ongoing Mature

Artemis Argent. The name was extremely well known in the supernatural community. Unlike her family, Artemis didn't hunt the supernatural creatures themselves, but those who oppose them. Being as her mother, Kate Argent, is one of the most ruthless and merciful hunters in the Argent family, it came as a bit of a shock for people to see the girl she raised basically go against everything her mother taught her. Her mother is a monster, murdering innocent people and children, simply because of their supernatural nature. Or at least she was. Kate Argent's ruthlessness was her downfall. Her own disregard for the supernatural is what killed her. Artemis, fed up with the life her mother and her family led them to live, took herself and her little cousin out of the poison that is Beacon Hills. She started showing Allison the right way to hunt. She taught her the Argent code is flawed. The code is not "we hunt those who hunt us" , but "protect those who cannot protect themselves" But when Artemis heard about the original hybrid and his wack job family putting down roots in New Orleans, she knew it was time to take action. It was time to be an Argent.
