Cora Drake can see the other world. A world that is supposed to be hidden from the eyes of all mankind, but for her, the veil has been lifted.

After a near death experience when she was fourteen, Cora Drake blocked the memories out, never wanting to re-live them again. The scars on her body being her only reminder.
Four years on the traumatic events soon begin to reveal themselves in her dreams, where she sees the distorted face of a man she knows in her heart is not human. The man who had saved her life. The long lost gift that she had since forgotten is also awakened and develops into a dangerous power she doesn’t know how to control.
Is it a gift or a curse? She leans towards the latter when, as she starts to see more of the hidden world, it causes a chain reaction that threatens to destroy not only her life, but the lives of those around her.
Not aware that what happened that day is the key, she must uncover the truth and at the same time try to deal with the issues of normal, daily life, while the dreaded consequences of knowing more than she should about the other side becomes chillingly clear.

"Sitting in the corner in front of me was Zoe. But then again, it wasn't. It had her body, but it was warped into something vile. Her eyes were glazed over in the same blood red, hellfire taking over her pupils. Her hair was darker than before, if that was possible, her skin lighter, her veins visible. But the worst was her smile. It wasn't the smile I knew. The way her lips curled up, her teeth slightly shown, wasn't Zoe. The crooked smirk, the hollowness of her laugh, that wasn't Zoe. That was something else entirely." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ They say that eyes are the windows to the soul. So what does it mean when I look into her eyes and see the fires of hell? I'm Mickey. A small town girl with a small town's view of the world. But after going into that house, things get a little freaky in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Reoccurring dreams keep me awake, and memories haunt me during the day. But then, I meet Zoe. Combat boots, metal music, and red highlights, with a fiery attitude to match. With a fear of next to nothing and curiosity the size of North America, she's the reason I find myself in that house again. But this time, we don't come out of there so lucky. As ghosts become reality, and demons become things that aren't only found in horror movies, we find out that we must help what's good and send what's evil back to where it truly belongs. And when those demons become problems, both figuratively and realistically, we soon find out that this is a test that we need each other to pass. If you're not ready I'm not either." My hands drop to my side at what he says and my eyes fill with tears. "Alice we don't have to..." His hand cups my cheek and I place mine over his.
