Bárbara debuta a sus 16 años, en el verano de 2011, para una de las obras de Gerardo Sofovich, Flor De Pito. Un año más tarde, en el 2012, realiza el personaje de una "fan", en la comedia teatral de Pedro Alfonso, Despedida De Soltero.

En 2013, participa de la obra teatral Los Grimaldi, protagonizada y producida por su madre Nazarena Velez. A raíz del gran éxito de la comedia, es llevada a la pantalla chica en Canal 9. Luego, recibe el papel de una de las co-protagonistas de la obra teatral de comedia "Familia de Mujeres", junto a las actrices Luisa Kuliok, Haydée Padilla, Gladys Florimonte, Luisa Albinoni, entre otros.

En 2014 actuó como "Olivia Navarro" hija de Pablo Navarro (Fabián Vena) y Mabel González (Adriana Salonia) en la telenovela Somos Familia, protagonizada por Gustavo Bermudez y Ana Maria Orozco en Telefe.

En 2015 protagoniza "La casa de Bernarda Alba", obra que dirige José María Muscari.1

Vélez concursó en el reality show de baile Bailando por un sueño conducido por Marcelo Tinelli, donde obtuvo el decimo puesto tras seis meses de competencia.

Ese mismo año, participa en la novela Esperanza mía, en Canal 13 (Argentina), como "Milagros del Pombo".2All Rights Reserved
