Cami & Rich have one thing in common: they're both hopeless romantics, the only difference is Cami's sworn off love and romance while Rich is still hanging on to his lost love.

Camille "Cami" Perez is someone you'd enjoy going out and having fun with, but she isn't the type you'd take home to meet Mom. She is brash, opinionated, and speaks what's on her mind. Her filter is often on the fritz. Her motto is what you see is what you get; take it or leave it.

Richard "Rich" Aldenson comes from the rare species of chivalrous gentlemen. His sweetness and kindness are his weaknesses; people often take advantage of him because of that.

Cami remembered Rich from when she was babysitting him years ago. She always held a soft spot for the charming mestizo boy whose zest for life and love wasn't dampened by his parents' ugly divorce. She also saw him as her kid brother since his sister was a friend of hers, so her being overprotective of him didn't just happen overnight.

Rich liked Cami more than he liked his sister, who was friends with Cami. But this Cami he met now was a far cry from the sweet, lovey-dovey Cami he met when he was still a kid and she was his babysitter. He lost touch with her after she graduated from high school and moved away; something happened that changed the romantic starry-eyed teenager he remembered from years ago to become this cynical non-believer she became now.

Cami wanted to help toughen Rich up.

Rich wanted to return the romantic starry-eyed girl Cami was.
