"We always want what we can't get."

Sometimes, life sucks and then you die. Or so they say. When life feels so empty, we wonder whether there is more to this world than simply existing. A hidden purpose, a destiny. Maybe for Kean it is to fall in love... with a girl he is afraid to break.

Cocky and popular Kean Montenegro never met a girl as sweet and as demure as Nikki Cruz. Impossibly shy and unbearably childlike, she became the player's latest object of interest. He had an entire life of experience so it should be easy to charm the new girl, but she seemed as elusive as a shadow. Now, he must learn how to dance the tune of their awkward love story if he wanted to keep her.

But when he was forced to grow up and face his own problems – the very ones he wished to forget – would he still persist?

"You should care, Dylan. You would still be living in the back of a car, stealing from Seven Eleven! Is that what you want?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The "Four Musketeers." That's what they called them. If they weren't all together they were two on two. And they give zero fucks about life. The Adopted one The Bad boy The Player The Best friend Dylan is like most troubled girls. She doesn't care about her grades, she skips school, hangs with the wrong crowds, and hates her parents. But of course there's a reason for all of this. Dylan is adopted. Dylan has always struggled with being adopted and she tends to fight everything in life. Many bad memories cause her to be the way she is. She desperately wants to forget her past, including some bad things she experienced, but the memories stay stuck in her mind. Dylan has three best friends who help her get by. The only three people she 100% trust and doesn't like to. They all have their own problems and lies they tell, but they help each other through it all. Especially her boyfriend Vince, who would do absolutely anything for her. He would die a thousand times over before anyone hurt Dylan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Dylan's not just my whole life, she makes my life whole. Some days she's the only reason I get out of bed. Without her in my life there is no point in living. She's like the air I breathe. Without her I can't live. She's my best friend and I will love her to the day I die." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This summer Dylan gets the opportunity to do what every guidance counselor has claimed she's always wanted to do . . . split up her family. Will she realize splitting up her family won't help anything? Or will she just not care? After all she was abandoned once. Riley Brown. The name sends chills down the spines of her classmates. But that doesn't mean she's evil, in fact, she's very fun and brave behind that mask of hers. She's one of the most popular people in her high-school, with a few of her guy-friends. Austin Miller. The name makes every girl sigh dreamily- but not Riley. He is the biggest player you could ever meet, and probably the hottest. So what will happen if the rebel and the player meet? Everyone else thought of World War III. But they were wrong. Sort of. P.S. this story originally started out as some sort of parody for the "nerd-dates-badboy" but it spiraled into something else at some point- look, honestly, it is something that cannot be explained.
