In 2965, a devastating virus has swept the planet. Half of the world's population has expired. Another quarter of them continued to die in the wars that followed the virus. After the virus was gone and the war was over, the children of the children who survived the virus and the war were looking towards a bright future. As they grew into adolescence, they discovered that they weren't like thier parents. Something in their genes, leftover from the virus their parents had, gave them powers. In 3016, Kennedy Meyers is running from soldiers. The North Kingdom wasn't very fond of the Contaminates, the children who obtained powers through their parent's viral genes. Private compounds had been built to house the children, to protect them, and to teach them to control their powers. Kennedy has set her sights on a particular compound in the East Provinces. This is where she is going. This is where she needs to be.
