Intrigue and espionage set in Montreal during the 1995 Quebec separation crisis. The protagonist is Frédéric Maestracci, an unassuming mid-level officer in the Canadian Security Intelligence Service whose entire life seems to be falling apart. In addition to the country breaking up, Maestracci's mentor at the service dies, his marriage is in difficulty, his estranged son is an extremist and the visiting CIA believes there's an information leak in his department. He intended to derail his life once and for all. But first he'd do his part, he would render the master chemtrail formula into a harmless state. That should last at least a year, if not longer, if it went undetected. It was the noble thing to do he thought, considering the enormous ever-growing state body count. We join Sinclair now on the military passenger jet as he finds himself once again witnessing a murder. His closest colleague's murder. But for Sinclair... there would be a more intimate end-of-life experience.
