Skylar left Los Angeles California to play softball. It was as simple as that, she needed a better team. So she picked up her life and moved to Orland Florida where she now attends Orlando High School, home of the whales. She meets the owner of the softball division and works to be on the team with all she's got. But with high school comes high school love and there's no way she can escape falling for Justin Mathews who just so happens to play baseball.

I rolled my eyes for what felt like the millionth time that day.
"Justin can you please leave me alone so I can practice?" I whined.
King of the bad boys had the NERVE to smirk at me from the dugout. "No way California. You promised you would let me teach you how to pitch baseball style."
Oh shit I completely forgot.
I hesitated for a moment before responding with a "no I need to practice my pitching or I-"
"You won't make the team, you won't play softball, you won't have a future, and you'll be home less and broke," he mocked.
I rolled my eyes yet again," Well the answer is still no, so you can go on and do your homework."
From the corner of my eye I saw Justin tugging at his hair, something he did when he was thinking. Finally he said," If you strike me out with three pitches I'll leave you alone and we can postpone the baseball. Deal?"
I thought for a moment. Surely Justin has only ever bat a baseball pitch, softball pitches are probably different so maybe he wouldn't hit it. "The deal is about to expire," he scowled.
A smile tugged at my lips. "Three pitches Justin. Step up."

I'm running, my dress bunched up in my fists. But I'm not running for my life I'm running for his, and when I see him I stop. There is one bulky man on either side of him, they have their arms linking his, he's kneeling in front of someone with raven black hair. As we get closer, I see his pain in the way he's holding himself, his brown hair is clouding his face. Something catches in my throat as I see him bent forward, almost looking limp. The panic is slowly eating me up on the inside. 'Please lift your head, let me see your eyes' I pray inside my head. He can't be gone. It's almost like he hears my prayers as he looks up, his blue eyes as deep as the ocean depths, knocks the breath out of me as per usual. I close my eyes and thank God for keeping him alive. The right side of his jaw is all purple and red. A cut on the other side of his face, which is oozing with the red liquid. He suddenly looks past the black haired male to look at us, reassurance washing over his features. It's when he sees me that his eyes widen, and the panic grows by the second. He goes from a slump to picking himself upright. He's hurt. Badly. The black haired man spins around as we walk closer in their direction. All 6 of us stop as I catch a glimpse of the face. A deadly grin appears on his wicked face. "Boys, I've been waiting for you" He shouts loud and clear. "'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library. Edwin walks away, and someone standing in the corner of my vision makes me turn in my seat. A tall, muscular man is standing there, his arms crossed, staring at me. He's got dark brown hair, perfect eyebrows, and soft brown eyes. Honestly, he's gorgeous. And since I've read, and edited, about five articles about him, I recognize him immediately. Dane Sawyer. He's the best pitcher on our baseball team. He's hoping to go pro, although I'm not totally sure what the process is surrounding that, since I don't retain much of the information from the articles that I read about him. I know that he's also a junior, and that his girlfriend is hot as fuck. I've seen them together on campus. They're hard to miss because they are easily one of the most attractive couples that I've ever seen. I'm convinced that I must be hallucinating, because he makes eye contact and walks towards me.
