It is the year 2108. Earth has become too polluted, flooding has become too dire, and mankind too numerous, for humanity to remain on their home world. Space colonization has begun, with the first space elevators, a burgeoning Mars colony, and expansive dome-cities on the moon. In order to bear with the drab setting and alien nature of their new environment, virtual and augmented reality has come to the forefront. Where once, generations huddled in front of a glowing box to play video games for hours, now Earth's first generation of orphans explore rich environments of virtual and augmented reality, using neural implants. AIs have spread throughout the system, beginning the efforts of terraforming the various worlds within their local neighborhood, and sending mankind's eyes further and further out beyond the Kuiper belt.

Then, the light from a nearby supernova engulfs the Solar System. Nearby Spica, a binary system 240 light years from Earth, has exploded, producing more light than an entire galaxy full of suns. Mankind and AI's telescopes turn outwards during the event, seeking new plutoids and dwarf worlds to colonize, and discover something ominous. A rogue planet three times the size of Earth, approaching at high speeds through the Oort cloud, scattering comets in its wake. At first, mankind plans to arrange a rendezvous with the strange rogue, but signs that the world was once inhabited combine with strange radio signals coming from the world itself to indicate that the rogue is something more than just a dead rock hurled out from its sun, possibly something far more valuable--or more deadly--than a new planet.

*Book #1 In The Crashing Series* A long time ago, people used to think that Earth would be taken over by aliens. That we would all be destroyed from their advanced technology and uncaring demeanor towards Earthlings and our entire mass population in general. That we would be picked off like mice in a locked maze, all fighting to save ourselves, all trying to get to the cheese that was freedom. But we didn't know that the only thing that would destroy us would inevitably be ourselves. We didn't know that our planet was dying before our very eyes and our countries were at constant war with each other, each fighting for more power. More money. More everything. We didn't know....Until it was too late. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Set in the year 2655, Earth has been completely demolished by poverty, famine and war, leaving nothing behind but a handful of survivors and most of the population relocated to space stations. Onboard the Celestial, one of the main stations in the galaxies, is 21 year old Mabel "Mae" Minerva. Forced to board the Celestial as a child many years ago along with her younger sister, Mae has always felt out of place in the galaxy, always preferring to spend her time rebuilding old space equipment then seeking the company of other humans. Though when a rumor is spread that her mother may be alive back on Earth, Mae springs into action to steal an armored spacecraft in hopes to save her mother from an unnatural death back on Earth. But when her miscalculations and malfunctioning ship takes her off course, she crash lands on a planet deemed to be uninhabitable. Until she meets an alien who burns hotter then the sun and who knows too much, and too little, about her kind.

Everyone was evacuated from the home planet over 150 years ago. Our planet was dying, it was only a matter of time before our race was wiped out. We now live on a synthetic planet designed and built by our ancestors who came together from all parts of the globe to devise a plan to save us. We have lived peacefully for over a century.. Until now. Our lives were threatened when a mysterious and deadly virus broke out, killing entire communities at a time. The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth. (This is not based on The 100 but there are similarities.) (Some violent themes, but other than that is entirely clean.) Please comment if you have any questions or concerns. This is a first draft so it is definitely not perfect yet.. Thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Where'd you learn to do that?" I asked about the intricate knots that he had tied so swiftly. He paused. "Jail." I glared at him in shock at what had just come out of his mouth. "Seriously?" His straight face broke into a grin. "No. Boy Scouts."
The Revelation by dstry0515
5 parts Complete Mature
In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. I open my mouth to speak and he looks my way, but the gleam in his dark brown eyes hits the moonlight just right and I fall. My voice escapes my throat and I can't do it. I've tried for years to tell him. 10 years, actually. All this time, I hopelessly remained devoted to a ghost who had given the best of himself to a fiery red-head with a sassy personality and the body of a supermodel. For 10 years, I held to the desperate thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone I could count on. Instead, I watched him marry my best friend, smiled as they welcomed their son. Stood, holding that beautiful boy as his mother was in the first round of executions after the beginning of the Revelation. Helped heal Will's wounds in the aftermath. Cried, clutching the tear-stained shirt of my best friend as his son took his last staggering breath in that first harsh winter. The guilt of my emotions crawl through me. My heart twisting in regret, guilt, desperation, and grief. I loved my best friend. She was so much more than that; she was my family. In this dystopian quick read, join a group of people desperate to recapture their freedom and end a tyrant's reign.

Ratana's brother is captain of a premiere league football team, and a hero to the Siamese - and when he is booted from the squad to make space for the son of a powerful nobleman, it sets off a chain of events that could result in the toppling of the Empire. Is the arrival of a roguish, lone-wolf mercenary a sign that human civilization is recovering, or the event that could destroy the few remaining survivors? The Woman from Mars: The robotic crew of the Basilisk thought humans were gone, long gone. But when they are sucked back in space and time to Jupiter's moon Europa in 2552, they discover a Viking civilization with the technology to rebuild human civilization - assuming the woman from Mars can complete her mission. A meteorite slams into the earth causing a global catastrophe, the particles on the atmosphere block out the sun for years, slowly cooling the planet leading to a world-wide ice age. Humans find refuge in dome cities, pre-build when the meteorite was detected, which are meant to last under the snow for thousands of years. In the process, technology brings forth the age of immortality and unprecedented automation. The result is a decaying society blind to any cause and drugged to survive the endless parade of years. An idea sparks in the mind of Alex. An idea already rooted in the minds of humans since their early appearance on Earth. Migrate. Within a few years, a team had been formed and a budget had been granted for project Gaia to initiate. The spacecraft "Hera" is built in space, ready to take a few settlers to Solis. A solar system which seems to be ideal for harboring life. Many planets within the goldilocks zone and an abundance of oxygen. Is Alex the hero who will rebuild humanity in a new world or someone who abandoned Earth when it most needed its healthiest minds?
