Amber Greene is a spoiled, rich girl who never worked a day in her life and always got everything she ever wanted. One night she meets Daryl Dixon, the tough but closed off redneck, that takes her breath away. Oddly enough, they form a relationship. But what happens when the dead start roaming the earth and Amber's money can't save her anymore? It's going to take a certain Dixon brother to help her make it through. But isn't it dangerous to be in love during the Zombie Apocalypse? Especially while knowing and being constantly aware that you could lose that person at any given moment? Follow Amber and the gang as they try to survive this cold and misty new world.

This New World We Live In (A Walking Dead fanfic)

31 parts Complete

I ran as fast as my feet would carry me. My lungs gasped for oxygen. I knew I had to stop, but he could still be following me. I pushed myself harder. I needed to get away, far away. From him. From this. I remember I just woke up one day, and went to work as usual. I drove my squad car around town on patrol, but I saw bodies. Bodies everywhere. They were dead bodies, but they weren't still on the ground. They were walking around. As if they had re-animated. I shook away the memories from the day it started all those weeks ago and focused on my running. It was almost sunrise and I figured I could stop soon. As soon as I knew I was safe. But I know now that I had fooled myself. In this new world, you can never be safe. I'm Katie Greene, and this is the apocalypse.
