For many years, Zykes was a loyal and true Imperial. He was always different, he was one of the few who cared about people more than blind loyalty to a cause. He was always proud to be an Imperial Scout Trooper. It was always his aim to be that, in honour of a hero he lost so terribly as a child. As drawn as he was to the light side, they kept hurting those he valued and relied upon, robbing him of his friends . The worst incident was when he discovered that after he watched a truly good person vapourised and knew he lost so many more, he turns to his friends on the other side only to discover they celebrated this genocide. Zykes is truly at breaking point, torn between to evils and trying to discover the lesser one. Will Zykes ever find the happiness he truly deserves. Is there even a place for a soldier who wants to do what's right for a clear conscience? That's exactly the journey Zykes makes here. Since Qui-Gon's death, Anakin had become the anchor in Obi-Wan's life. It was Anakin who gave him purpose. There was no greater pride than seeing him surpass the other Padawans, watching him grow into the prodigy everyone had expected him to be. Obi-Wan had even allowed himself a rare indulgence-gloating about his apprentice's achievements, silently basking in the knowledge that he had helped shape the Jedi who would one day be the Order's greatest. But with that pride came an overwhelming guilt. Obi-Wan had never been able to reconcile it fully, but his attachment to Anakin-his love for him-was plain as day to anyone who knew them. The way he lit up when Anakin was in the room, the way he defended his Padawan even when the Council was less than forgiving. That connection had deepened over time, morphing from the playful, nurturing affection of a master for his apprentice into something more guarded. He had become stricter with Anakin as the years passed, holding back the casual warmth he once offered so easily, because he knew that his love for Anakin was becoming too personal, too dangerous. Attachments led to fear, and fear led... well, Obi-Wan knew where that path led. He couldn't afford to let his feelings slip into attachment, even though everyone in the Temple could see it. Charting the Stars - Dinluke AU
An AU where Darth Vader found out he had a son, intercepted Obi-Wan on his way to Tatooine, and took Luke. To keep him safe from the Emperor, he hid him away on Arvala-7, where years later Din Djarin would land to collect a bounty on a 50-year-old child. Having never seen the galaxy except for what was visible from his singular window, Luke decides to go with the Mandalorian when he leaves. Specific story warnings at the beginnings of each chapter, but the biggest one is an ongoing theme of overcoming child abuse (though it is not explicit and not talked about often past the first couple of chapters) so I would like to share some resources: Abuse of any kind is never okay. Nothing left my mouth as I stared at him in shock. He truly believed that I was part of this. The man, who I had lived with and served for months. The man who I had protected with my life and soul. I stood still while, as he backed away from me quickly. "I trusted you with my life." His cry pierced around the empty room. He looked so destroyed and hurt, but mostly his face portrayed rage and determation. "And I protected you with mine." I spoke back loudly. I didn't hear myself say it but I knew I did. I look into his eyes even from our distance they seemed to wallow me in darkness. "I gave you mine." My voice was quiet and cracked. His face changed only for a second before his old one took over again. He doesn't believe me. It doesn't matter what I say or do he won't listen. He will still believe I am the bad guy. Just as Kane said, we will never be equals, we will never be fellow humans. We will always be monsters to them. "Yakov, I am not the bad guy." I plead one last time. His Russian accent comes out harsh with his next words. "Your right," he pauses, "you are the villain." I stumble back as if I had just been stabbed in the chest. It was a horrible feeling. It was never good with the emotions and yet I recognize the feeling as heart beak. I barely breathe in air as I regain my posture. A battle cry from somewhere distracts me momentarily. I suddenly remember Ewan. I glare at Yakov one more time before I take off after the cries of battle. Jade believes she started the war among the human and her kind. Nothing is as it was portrayed. The lies and the truth are hidden among each other. There is is no clear good and evil. How can there be if one does not know what is right and what is wrong. She was prepared to see death, prepared to inflict death upon others without mercy or remose. She was prepared to do her job which the Facility had given her. His life was that of an endless transition in regards to emotional turmoil: a continual struggle between the light and the dark. Anakin Skywalker will not become Darth Vader. Not yet, anyway. Padmé saved him from a lifetime of regret by pulling him out of the fateful battle between Mace Windu and Chancellor Palpatine. But at some point, he still has to decide if his heart lies with the Jedi or the Sith. Palpatine, undeterred by the loss of his potential apprentice, still devises a way to create the Empire and wipe out the vast majority of the Jedi. He sends various threats directly to Anakin and Padmé to convince them that they and their newborn children are in danger. Fearing for their safety, they split. For years, Anakin and Leia wander throughout the galaxy, dodging the Empire and searching for a greater purpose. Meanwhile, Padmé raises Luke while working with Bail Organa and Mon Mothma to lead the fight against the oppressive Galactic Empire. Anakin is constantly tempted by the Dark Side. Padmé struggles to help the Rebels succeed. Their children mean everything to both of them. The story also features other characters we all know and love, such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, Han Solo, and Boba Fett. Most of the story takes place 7 years after Revenge of the Sith.
