The choices have been made. Erik let Christine and Raoul go. A falling chandelier caused a fire. The Opera Garnier went up in flames. Christine and Raoul try to get out of the opera as quickly as possible. Due to one impulsive decision, the engaged couple were separated by fire. With that, Christine was stuck in the burning opera house. Erik, suspecting that his beloved was left at the opera, does not hesitate and returns to find and save her. Because of one decision, their fates became entangled again. Will Erik fight to win Christine's heart? Can Christine forgive her Angel of Music years of lies and manipulation? The Phantom of the Opera was the inspiration for countless novels and movies, but they've all been based on speculation. No telling of my story has yet to reveal the truth - and it's time the truth came out. Though rumors of a spirit haunting the infamous Paris Opera House were in full swing long before I moved in, I was never a ghost. Without my official autobiography, the assorted fables about the elusive - and dare I say exceptionally handsome, masked genius, are just fictional works. They all attempt to pass off their theories as fact and people choose to believe whatever version they like best. Some say my face was deformed at birth, others say it was burned by acid, and let's not forget the notion that it was the result of a pact with the Devil himself. But let me assure you, none of these so-called chronicles are the real story. The Opera was just one of many houses. So, what made me resort to playing the part of a phantom and hiding from the world behind a mask? Well, like the downfall of most men, it all started with a woman...

The Phantom Of The Opera by Gaston Leroux First published in French as a serial in 1909, The Phantom of the Opera is a riveting story that revolves around the young, Swedish Christine Daaé. Her father, a famous musician, dies, and she is raised in the Paris Opera House with his dying promise of a protective angel of music to guide her. After a time at the opera house, she begins hearing a voice, who eventually teaches her how to sing beautifully. All goes well until Christine's childhood friend Raoul comes to visit his parents, who are patrons of the opera, and he sees Christine when she begins successfully singing on the stage. The voice, who is the deformed, murderous 'ghost' of the opera house named Erik, however, grows violent in his terrible jealousy, until Christine suddenly disappears. The phantom is in love, but it can only spell disaster. Leroux's work, with characters ranging from the spoiled prima donna Carlotta to the mysterious Persian from Erik's past, has been immortalized by memorable adaptations. Despite this, it remains a remarkable piece of Gothic horror literature in and of itself, deeper and darker than any version that follows.

(For the sake of the story, let's pretend there was never a fire at the Opera Populaire, and that Erik, Meg and Madame Giry never went to America (Love Never Dies)) It's been 25 years since Christine left him in his eternal night, and Raoul has had a warrant out for his arrest since Don Juan Triumphant was first performed. The Opera Populaire, left closed for some years for investigation, is being re-opened. Now they look to replace their beloved Christine Daee after her leaving with the Vicomte de Chagny.
