Falan and his brother, Jax, are new to the world of magic. They're magelings - untrained magic-wielders - and they're powerful. They soon become locked in a conflict between the Brotherhood of the Kings and a mysterious Order. One side wants to kidnap them for their magic, and the other will do anything to keep them from falling into the Brotherhood's hands.
When the Order sends an agent, Freya, to their aid, she doesn't seem happy to help. She's closed, snappish, and short tempered, and she has no love for magelings or magic. But the brothers soon discover that she's superhuman, with impossible strength and fighting skill. She also has secrets. The leader of the Brotherhood soon discovers her identity- and he'll go to any length to kill her.

I stopped just as the tip of her sword touched my chest. "You're quite the fighter, aren't you? How did you manage to kill them without bloodshed." I asked, smirking. She narrowed her eyes at me.
