When this duo decides to adopt there second child they will discover the hidden power with in him. Will it be for good or for evil. As the avatar he or she holds tremendous power only they can stop evil on the rise or be the cause of it. 50 years ago avatar korra battled unavatuu and destroyed her connection with her past lives and now the new avatar will not have much help from his past lives.
