When 13 year old Jimmy Hawkins traveled from his cramped Apartment in Columbus Ohio to spend the Summer with his Grandfather in Bent River, Mississippi. He never knew before the summer was over he would come in contact with The Boat Man. The mysterious, shadowy figure that travels the River behind his Grandfather's Home on an old Raft dragging a Metal Pole along the bottom of the River. What is he doing? Why is he there? What will Jimmy do when the Boat Man comes a calling?
