However, her life is turned upside down when two old friends pop back into it. Them requesting her to assassinate the king of the vampires. Just when she thought she was free, Vick is thrown back onto the roller coaster of life. The sound of it hit something in me that shouldn't have existed. But then his gaze hardened again. "You were with her," he said quietly, anger laced in his face as he brought up Mandy. "How do you know her?" "I don't," he said tightly. "But I know what her pack did," His words confused me, "she's a killer. I've been tracking her for weeks." My blood ran cold. "You're lying." "I wish I was," he murmured, stepping closer again. "She's dangerous, Dawn." "She's my friend." He flinched like I'd struck him. "She's the reason people are after you."
