Nightmare Moon was defeated by the element bearers, but her spirit remains alive. She managed to escape the prison Princess Celestia had made and got her own body.

She ran outside of Equastria and fell in love with a gentlecolt. Soon, they had their wedding and stayed together. Nightmare sometimes brings her husband to visit the moon, while her husband specializes at weather, stars and galaxy.

A few years later, their first foals was born on winter. They named one Nightmare Snow and her twin Blizzard Moon.

They taught them to darkness everyday. The foals grew to a pair of very strong alicorns and were ready for a quest.

And soon, Nightmare Moon tasked her daughters to take over Equastria alone. They were allowed to bring nothing but a magic book.

How will this quest completed by the young ponies? Will the elements win against them? Or will they turn their faces to the light and defeat their own mother?

Queen Iris, and King Astraeus have just given birth to two beautiful unicorns, Galaxia and Chrystalline. Though Chrystalline was born with a devastating mutation, a curse it seemed, of a crooked horn. Queen Iris took Galaxia immediately under her responsibilities, and left Chrystalline to their father, she was ignored, neglected and scorned by her mother. When they meet with the other princesses, Celestia notices how tired Twilight and her friends look after their journey and sends all eight of them off to bed. Later that night, a cloaked unicorn sneaks into the castle and steals Twilight's crown. The next morning, Princess Celestia identifies the thief as Sunset Shimmer, her former student. The princesses explain that the mirror from which Sunset Shimmer escaped is a gateway to an alternate world and task Twilight with going into this other world to retrieve her crown. Little does she know, she will encounter her friends once again. What adventures await Twilight in this alternate world? She ends up entering her inner self and attempts to fight it, but when she loses, all hell breaks loose and this time the elements can't stop this enemy, because as Luna loses. The elements of harmony are destroyed due to an ancient and forgotten power that Luna's inner demon knows about. It is left up to a single alicorn to fight off this terrifying antagonist.
