Ashley Ou'Bourne. A 17 year old small town girl from who knows where. A social outcast for her intelligence, sent off to live with her dead-beat father in LA - whom she's had no contact with since she was 5 - trying to pursue a career of music.

Ethan and Grayson Dolan. The "Dolan Twins". They both could not be more different.

Ethan - The glasses wearing, piano playing, late-night studying 4.3 GPA Valedictorian, who would rather focus more on school work than his social image and people's opinions of him.

Grayson - The "Jock", who cares about nobody but himself. Star Quarterback of the Lakefront Eagles, he spends most of his time at the gym and at football practices - when he's not partying and womanizing of course.
