Dull Acceptance (Mikayuu)

Every September the snow falls upon the town like a soft white blanket. The type that children spend their earliest years bundled up tightly in, rocking back and forth in a mother's arms. Blankets are there to preserve and protect the precious contents they withhold, to cherish and cradle closely that youthful warmth. However, a blanket can only do so much.
When the purest dust has settled on the ground, the creatures descend to rip the innocent children from their mother's arms and take such youth for themselves. As winter strikes the ancient evil lurking just outside of the baby's crib reaches in with delicate hands and plucks it from home like a petal from a rose.
Yuichiro exists as part of the extermination force, known to him as 'pest control'. The beings that threaten his family and friends, all delicately hanging in the balance, are fended off by a select few who have been born with the curse of the emerald eye. Now September has gently crept up on the unassuming townsfolk, the annual hunt begins again. These monsters will suffer for what they have done.
