[COMPLETED] About a month ago, two best friends, Myung Nayoon and Cha Rohee, participated in a contest run by the korean pop boyband BTS. It would be very unlikely that they would win the contest out of millions of others who had participated as well, but to their luck they won. Their prize is that they will receive V.I.P. tickets to all of BTS concerts, plus they will be allowed to go backstage, and also they will get to go on tour with the band for 2 whole months. What an awesome prize! These girls are probably the luckiest girls on earth, but this contest was over a month ago. It's a month later and they have completely forgotten about the contest. A Kim Hye Soo Fan Fiction To my precious reader, this is a fan fiction novelette made out of love and admiration for the one and only 배우 김혜수 (Actress Kim Hye Soo) who inspires and amazes me so much. All other characters are completely fictional. You are free to put a face in your imagination for our male lead.😉 Lovelots!😘 Synopsis: A story about a woman who has a seemingly tranquil life and has always thought of living alone throughout her life because that was what she thought was most convenient with her line of work. Little did she know that someone familiar will come her way who will turn her world upside down. A man who will challenge her beliefs but sometimes make her knees turn to jelly. A man whom she will see as both a nemesis and a confidant. Will he ever break her resolve?Will they get through the hurdles together? I decided to write this with Kim Hye Soo as a music icon instead of being an actress because I wanted to add a bit of a different flavor to the plot. Also, even just through this story, I was hoping to somehow incorporate KHS' dream of becoming part of Madonna's background artists.🤍 The tracks I used are a variety of genres, including some from our Queen KHS herself (she had a digital single ya'll!😉). All chapters will be in our heroine's POV... unless I'd get more motivation to write a bonus one (or a few) in our male lead's POV. 🤪 I haven't been able to proofread yet, so apologies in advance for typo and errors. *Again, this is only a fanfic. Book of Contests (2024)
To keep myself from losing track of: all the contests I've entered, all the contests I've volunteered myself as a judge (or let myself be voluntold into judging), all the books I've had to read as a contestant or as a judge, all the deadlines, and all the other important stuff, I've decided to create a book that registers all these things in a somewhat organized fashion. I can't remember who advised me to do that, but whoever you are, and there are probably several of you, thank you. I've been reading that it's extremely common for contests to be a bit sluggish with follow-up if a person wins a major prize and gets graphics and shout-outs, so I'll use this book to keep track of that, too. I had no idea so many people would be adding my personal convenience book to their own bookshelves, let alone voting for chapters - if my book of contests is useful to other people, that makes me happy. Very happy. However, I feel I must reiterate that although other people are welcome to browse my public contest logs and look for contests, look for information about details of contests (i.e. you want me to pour you some tea), etc, these contest logs are primarily for my own use. I enter so many contests that I can't keep track of them without a log. I forget important details, too, including things like "Note to self: You do not get along with this contest host, best not participate in their contests." This was never meant to be an "expose" book. I'm not exposing anybody. Contests are matters of public record, as are any comments made in the contest books. I'm just a ditz who needs a written log to keep track of everything. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders. All the past tenants report that the neighbors are loud. But who are they? And when you finally meet them, they are not who you thought they would be. As time goes by you grow closers with your neighbors... And soon you find yourself drawn to the overworked young lyricist. But after getting to know you for awhile. he pushes himself away from you. Great! But who are you to judge? Fair question. This is not to humble-brag, but I've been critiquing and have worked with story development for quite some time, and I've picked up a lot along the way. ☙ - As an Ambassador, I work on content projects. ☙ - If you look at my profile, you'll see everything I've published so far has managed to standout in one way or another, whether by leading me to become a Wattpad Star; or by winning a Watty (twice!); or by being picked as a Top 10 in major Wattpad contests (twice!); or being featured. All I'm saying is I'm no slouch. I'm not brilliant either. But I've got some experience around what can catch an agent, editor, or judge's eye, and I'd like to share that with the community. ☙ - In another lifetime, I used to work for HBO in Development and at ICM (the talent agency) in their writers' department which means I understand how professionals quickly gauge whether or not they'll take a closer look at a work and/or make an offer. This kind of insight can be helpful if you're planning to submit your work or even just want to stand out more here on Wattpad. ☙ - I used to provide critiques for three writers, all of them traditionally published. They seemed to value my insight. Read the RULES, LOGISTICS & PRIZES chapter for guidelines. All entries get a brief assessment of their first chapter, with winners getting more extensive critiques.
