It's interesting really, how people can change you, for better or for worse.
Alice Walker is a small, hilarious and altogether ordinary hairdresser from the city. Her life is going nowhere, until she meets Jeff Thornton, a smart, handsome man with a passion for books.
Alice takes an instant disliking to the school teacher from the country, and his selfish, stuck-up persona.
However, when a mugger tries to stab Alice, Jeff springs to the rescue. Alice begins to notices that Jeff is actually rather sympathetic at heart.
