Here lies Runa Slen, loving daughter and sister. November 3, 1998 - July 14, 2015 It may be that when you die you completely disappear, there is no after life. Your soul is only in existence for a mere speck of time. After I left the earth I expected there to be no more, I doubted there was a heaven, reincarnation seemed impossible, and frankly hell was not pleasant to think of. But I did not find oblivion not heaven nor hell. Destiny is a funny thing.

For centuries, the small village of Asra has been haunted by a beast of the forest. The beast would come every night and ravish the village. Fifteen years ago, villagers came up with this idea to offer the beast yearly sacrifices of 18 year old virgins. Raven is the village orphan. She is an outcast in the village. She never knew her parents. Her mother was murdered by the villagers and her father is an unknown man. After years of abuse from the villagers she ran away. She went into the deepest part of the forest. There she met the beast. Raven wasn't scared of him. Instead she was intrigued. The beast thought the child was insane. She came every day to see him, chattering about nothing important. Over time he started to warm up to her. Through the years they developed a sort of friendship. But what will the two do when on her eighteenth birthday, the village priest decides that Raven would be the sacrifice for that year? Will the beast kill his friend like he did the others? Or will he free her? ~~~~~~
