"No mom. I'm on my way now! Yes, I got milk, cereal, brea-," I pulled my phone away from my ear. There was a whimpering sound in the distance. I sped up my walk. A few feet away, I saw someone crying next to my car. I jogged over to them. It was a girl. I kneeled next to her.

"Woah, hey, are you okay?"

Jasmine Hall has been abused by her father for as long as she can remember. He blames her for her mother's death. When she died, he began to drink heavily. But to her, this is just her life and she's used to it.

Kai Russell has everything he could ever want. Popularity, wealth, and undeniable good looks. But no one knows of the death of his sister,
which took a toll on him. He's an egotistical hottie who is great at hiding his feelings. But to him, that's just the way he is and he's used to it.
