"I want to be the first sound she ever heard, I want to be the one to hold her when she cried tears of joy, and I want to be there when she experiences every single sound on earth."
"that's huge- wow... we agree."
the doctor nodded, giving only in one quick input.
"as long as you ask properly, and speak clearly. everything may be fuzzy for a while in her hearing."
I became more nervous as we approached the room. this was it, the "make it or break it" time. I spun the handle on the door, and we all filed into the room. I was on her right, closest to her, half were lined up beside me, the others were to her left. I gently tapped her wrist, and her eyes flew open. I generally removed the completely noise cancelling headphones, and took a quick deep breath as she stared at me with curiosity, and nervous excitement.
"can you hear me?"
