Sole-Searching

Charlie never wished or hoped ever since he began working in a shoe store. Well, at one point he did. But with a student loan that could pay off his future mortgage, he tucked away those frivolous thoughts with his childhood.

But when childhood friend, Lilian "Aleks", seemingly returns out of the blue to buy sneakers, he finds three things that have changed:

[ 1. ] She is no longer cootie-infested.

[ 2. ] Her foot size now is six and a half.

[ 3. ] She is a runaway boarding student headed for Manhattan
