What Killed the Cat

Eighteen-year-old Claire has never met ten-year-old Alice, but the two girls have one thing in common. Their curiosity has led them both into the forest near a small town called Clayton Crossing; a forest that seems outwardly innocent but is hiding a very deep secret. Claire has been forever changed by her experience in the woods, and Alice may be in danger as well.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Certain details of this story's setting are based off a webcomic called Deep Rise that can be found on mspaforums.com. None of the comic's original characters or storyline is used, but I'll call it fanfiction because I'm using a few of the author's ideas.
