In the sequel to The White Queen our mer-couple, Morg and Ethos, have had a young one. A mer-girl they have named Sherez, and having waited in isolation until she is strong enough, they embark on another adventure in their ploy to quell the abandoning of the ocean by searching for Nepulus.

They happen upon an abandoned cave, and through Sherez find a way to save the lives of all merfolk without the need for the human mating madness.

They also discover some things about their young one which will change their lives forever.
