Dil Howlter was adopted by YouTubers Dan Howell and Phil Lester in 2016. Now in 2022, he seems like a normal 15 year old boy, but what's on the outside hides the true horrors that were his past.

Even though he has a few friends and a good life now, he's still bullied by the popular kids at school, especially Erica Pendleton. He feels like this is his past in a new form and he will never escape it.

One day, a new girl starts school and her and Dil click instantly. Will it go any further? Will there be obstacles and if there are, will they overcome them? Also, Dil's past pre-adoption is revealed bit by bit, how much will it affect him? Whatever happens, there's sometimes good in evil...

Will Dan have the confidence to tell his father about the way he feels? Or will he continue to be the rebellious teenager he is? Phil is completely the opposite from Dan, never gets in trouble, quiet and doesn't have any friends. Trying to double depression and his grades, how will he deal with a new kid in his class? Will all his secrets be revealed? And will the bullying stop? Dan crosses Phil on his first day, and things don't start in the best way. Phil doesn't need help, but Dan is adamant he helps the boy through his years at college. What will happen when things turn upside-down for the both of them?
