Frank Whitfield is dying. He is 54 years old and has spent his whole life living with a secret which he will now take to the grave. A staunch atheist to all who know him, Frank is anything but and has been in touch with the other side his whole life. Lying in his hospital bed, he is ready to cross over himself. In his hand sits a necklace made from scrimshaw he is keeping for his daughter, Catherine, who is on her way to say her final goodbyes. With it he hopes she will one day be guided towards knowing the truth about her old man and can share in his faith. But faith cannot be given. It has to be experienced and felt for it to be real. With true faith comes life changing consequences. Beluga is about never really saying goodbye to the ones we love and the power of believing in something when nobody else does.

I've heard stories before, stories about people losing their loved ones, grieving, healing. And that was the end of it. Comforting tales were these, and yet they left one thing to be desired: reality. In my world, people can't move on so easily. The dead don't let us. - On hiatus
