Christian and Lily were abandoned by their parents 7 years ago when he was 12 and she was 1. Two years of living with their grandmother went by, and she passed away. They were put in an orphanage, and once Christian was old enough to buy his own apartment and live on his own, he adopted Lily. But soon after moving Lily into the small apartment,Cristian learns that their parents didn't abandon them after all. Their lives are changed after an adrenaline rushing situation happens on a day that didn't seem like it could get any worse than it already was.

Lily, not knowing what really happened to her parents, and not understanding at all, she decides to take things into her own hands. At first she killed animals because she thought her parents were lonely where ever they were. After trying to kill her own Grandmother she was sent to The House, an insane asylum for kids. There she met seven other kids with situations similar to her own. Will Lily get better and go live with her family again or will she remain in a sense of denial enough that her sanity is in jeopardy? This story is told from Lily's point of view but it actually told by another girl with her little comments every now and again.

I uttered the words again. Why? There is nothing to fight for. No mama. No papa. No sister to love me. No one. So why would I waste my life and the time of others to fix what is already broken - and someone who doesn't want to be fixed? If I may add. Maybe I gave up. No, scratch that. I gave up a long time ago - when my parents died, my hope and purpose went away with them.
