Kellin and Vic have worked on the same street trying to live their dreams. Kellin spends his days sketching skylines and painting Californian sunsets, while Vic plays heartfelt melodies with his calloused hands on his faithful guitars. The streets of San Diego can be hard to live off without a little lift of from the wrong kind of help and these two are barely managing.
They rarely talk, but admire each other from a far and weaving their petty obsession into their arts. But these develop into far from petty crushes into a reality. A cold harsh reality full of rises and falls, but some of the falls end up too much to handle.

Vic (20) is being sent to a mental institution and is not happy about it. Its for his own good, so his family says. There's so many things that's wrong with him, but doesn't want to believe it. When he's roommates with Kellin (18), a boy who doesn't like to talk to anyone, and is isolated and closed off, spends most of his time drawing; Vic doesn't know what's wrong with his roommate, he simply thinks that Kellin's insane, and that he doesn't belong with someone like Kellin.
