A small tribe lives in holes in the cliffs near the lake they call Halliodera. Their knowledge of their world was limited long ago; a message passed down through the generations.
Do not venture too far from Halliodera, or you may never return.
Halliodera, named after her people's lake, has never questioned the wisdom of the elders. But when her best friend Arum defies authority and leaves the village, she embarks on a journey to bring him back. Outside her tribe's safe haven, she will unearth many old dangers and a few long-buried secrets that will change her forever.
A shy girl of the village, she is not ready for what lays ahead. But if she returns, she will find herself very different from the old Halliodera. Her world will never be the same.
