The Fairmount Woods was a forbidden place. Everyone in town knew that if you ventured into the woods, especially after night, that there would be serious consequences - but not from the townsfolk, oh no. The beasts that are foretold to dwell inside the dark woods are said to take anyone that ventures out too far into the woods and they are never to be seen again. So far, five have disappeared. Warnings were told to children by their parents as soon as they could walk and understand basic English. Everyone knew not to go into the woods.
Ezrael Christen is new to Fairmount, having just turned eighteen and moved out of his parents house to escape the abuse of his father and the accusing words and pointed finger of his mother.
