This is a story about a girl who has learned to survive while surrounded daily by a monstrous evil, and about a boy that save her from the wreckage of her broken life. *The story for this book is short and sweet, so it gets right to the point. (Completed)* Short scene from Broken: I lay on my bed stiffly, my body slightly curled into a ball as if protecting myself from the evil surrounding me. I can feel the coldness of the morning air, slithering its way through the cracks in the paper thin walls, and wrapping itself around my exposed skin. I shiver, pulling my blanket over my head like a cocoon, propelling myself into darkness. I welcome it, because it seems to me that darkness is the only thing that can't judge you or hurt you. People are afraid of the dark and they are scared of the secrets that it holds, so they create devices that bring light, burning out the darkness until it is merely a shadow. But not me. Over the years I have grown quite acquainted with the darkness. For me, it feels like home.

ACHIEVERS

When a not so ordinary book falls into the hands of a book hater, the tales in the book unlocks doors in her life she never knew existed. AN EXCERPT FROM THE STORY: ** As I lay my back on my tiny bed, a few inches away from my parent's at the extreme end of the room, I stare deeply at our ceiling, I realize it has a lot of patched holes, even Jenna who is only a youth lives in a house better than this, now I even compare our lives with a fiction character, is it now this bad. **
