As is overtly evident, this is my first story. I'm using it as an initial assessment of my writing, and any suggestions or critiques would be appreciated. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the first book in my collection: Nuclear Deterrent.

Mutually Assured Destruction. That's what they were calling it. Its technical meaning: an attack or series of attacks that result in the destruction of both the attacker and defender. What it meant to me: don't let it get to that point. There was no denying it, I had fully invested myself into halting this confrontation, causing a cessation of tension between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. As a result, it didn't matter what were to happen, I had to stop this... even if it meant my death. Though, that wasn't fazing me at all. Probably because everyone else was facing the same treacherous fate.All Rights Reserved

Specter: This is a story I've been working on for awhile. I've seen many people talk about how bad their writing is. This just makes me cringe because they say this when they're just on their first draft. I decided to post the first draft of my story called Specter. This is purely just to give writers and idea what a first draft looks like. A confidence booster. Something to compare your writing to. The best writer never wrote a master piece on the first go. When you read this you'll say, this is good but needs to be worked on more. WARNING CONTAINS: Dead plot points that go nowhere, Cringe worthy dialogue, Characters that are not fleshed out, Weak characters, A rushed ending, A weak villain, Thin plot that has little meat Scenes that make you say, "Srsly?"

PROLOGUE My name is Alex Kahill. On July 15, 2017, I killed a person, but am not accused of murder. However, I am being hunted by those who hold me responsible for this death...and most certainly, these folks fully intend to terminate my life. This is my first countryhumans story so it's not that good. East Germany knows he shouldn't be alive, yet here he is, living with the man who raised him. He never really questioned it though. The entire world that he lives in is beginning to unravel and East learns things he never could have imagined. There's also a lot of stuff about Russia in this and I don't know why. BOOK 1 From the moment the Declaration of Independence was signed, there were people who didn't agree with it. This included a small group of politicians who called themselves Chaos. They vowed to someday take over America and start over with a utopian society where everyone would have a common goal. They slowly infiltrated the government, filling it with corrupt leaders. They planned a mass attack on the U.S. on July 2, 2076, Americas 300th birthday. On that day, they assassinated the president and began bombing in New York. Unfortunately, Chaos only had about 200 soldiers so they came up with a technology to implant a chip in the nervous system and essentially control them. So basically, each solider could make a civilian a soldier and the civilian would be forced to fight and make soldiers of their own. The whole operation snowballed and everything went according to plan. Unlike in other stories, there is no hope and the only way to survive is though the CPO (citizen protection organization), created by Benjamin Franklin. It's a system of secret subway tunnels, used to evacuate civilians to safely. Out story begins on July 2, 2076 when the first bomb drops. Madalyn Grace and her friends are caught in this apocalypse and must find away to leave.

This story kind of explains why I have problems finishing stories, u have ideas then it like how do I make them not so cliché or cringe worthy. A short story with a semi finished ending, it leaves me a bit of wriggle room to add to, if I decide to. Any similarities or references are purely for fiction and I did not base this story on anything except if the third world war started. It is fiction people. All credit to the original owners or creator's for the borrowed characters and media. I own the story and the original characters. There is some references to dark topics and subjects, pleae be warned. They do only skim it though.

War had just broke out between the states of America. Two states remained. Yet only one wins. One state had won by peace and one state had won by destruction. The day of the fight, the state of distinction launched a nuke. Yet they had under estimated the power the nuke had. It destroyed both states and it had seemed that no one remained. 3 years latter and a little city had grown out of the destruction. Emma was a resident of that city. Emma had a different childhood than most. "Go fetch the food!" or "Go get the water!" Were the most of chores she had to do. It was grow up fast or die in her city! On Emma's 17 birthday she would be old enough to go out side of the city walls and look for communication to other parts of the world. They had found a part of a cell tower that would finish off there hand made cell tower and needed a search crew to go get it and bring it back. Emma now being old enough she tried out. She had never been outside the city walls. We're most of the adventures have already gone once or twice. Most people have said that they should not send the youngest age, and they just might be right... because Emotions, Guys, and family are all in her way.

Nothing left my mouth as I stared at him in shock. He truly believed that I was part of this. The man, who I had lived with and served for months. The man who I had protected with my life and soul. I stood still while, as he backed away from me quickly. "I trusted you with my life." His cry pierced around the empty room. He looked so destroyed and hurt, but mostly his face portrayed rage and determation. "And I protected you with mine." I spoke back loudly. I didn't hear myself say it but I knew I did. I look into his eyes even from our distance they seemed to wallow me in darkness. "I gave you mine." My voice was quiet and cracked. His face changed only for a second before his old one took over again. He doesn't believe me. It doesn't matter what I say or do he won't listen. He will still believe I am the bad guy. Just as Kane said, we will never be equals, we will never be fellow humans. We will always be monsters to them. "Yakov, I am not the bad guy." I plead one last time. His Russian accent comes out harsh with his next words. "Your right," he pauses, "you are the villain." I stumble back as if I had just been stabbed in the chest. It was a horrible feeling. It was never good with the emotions and yet I recognize the feeling as heart beak. I barely breathe in air as I regain my posture. A battle cry from somewhere distracts me momentarily. I suddenly remember Ewan. I glare at Yakov one more time before I take off after the cries of battle. Jade believes she started the war among the human and her kind. Nothing is as it was portrayed. The lies and the truth are hidden among each other. There is is no clear good and evil. How can there be if one does not know what is right and what is wrong. She was prepared to see death, prepared to inflict death upon others without mercy or remose. She was prepared to do her job which the Facility had given her. But now it doesn't seem so simple anymore. Instead she focuses on keeping her friends alive.
