Katheryn Thomas suffers from insomnia, anxiety, and PTSD after being abused by her mom. When her parents kill themselves, Katheryn has to live with a foster family. The problem with that is, she has to learn to make new friends.

"Why do you care so much?" I say, my voice is barely above a whisper.

"Because I love you Kat. Nothing you say or do can change that." Zach replies, his voice is as quiet as mine.

I think about his reply for a few minutes. Why did he choose me?

"But why? Why do you love me?" I say, slightly louder.

He smiles, "Because, you're my if only."
