They get to choose what they want to look like, based on the mannequin standing in front of them and the level of power they have to hold to the form. This way, everyone is happy, brain dead, and no one talks about the cruel government controlling them. But Nixon has found a way to destroy them, to steal their most perfect ones, the "Angels". Their bodies have cat-like reflexes, the strength of a bear, and senses like nothing else. The "Angels" are the key to power. They wouldn't have to work jobs. They wouldn't have currency. They wouldn't have to deal with challenges. They could live their lives the way everyone wants to. But there was one catch. And that was that the government made it a law that nothing bad could ever happen. No crimes, no arguments, no fights. The citizens would all be kept calm and they would be kind to each other. Obviously, this failed. Crime broke out. Everyone was fighting each other and the society the government promised turned into a disaster. So, the government decided to do something about it. They decided that everyone who rebelled against them or did anything bad would be put into a perfect android body which was devoid of doing anything wrong. But, they would also be drained of their freedom and emotion. They would be slaves to the government. The majority submitted to the government's orders. But some didn't. This is the story of the ones who rebelled.

They are sent to the unknown, up to the enemy's world, and go undercover, gather as much information about their "enemy" before the time is up. What seems easy for us is very difficult for them, they are smart, but not when it comes to life. Most live, but some die in foolish ways. When Brooke is the youngest ever to be chosen to go Above, everything starts to change and she begins to wonder, why are they doing this? What is the point? When the window was open to let fresh air in, it didn't smell of the ocean breeze. And Nurse Farrah no longer came, for she was long dead. Everyone that Ruthie knew was dead, her mother, her father, her sisters, her brothers, her grandparents, her friends, her pets. Upon waking, Ruthie is introduced to Reuben, a boy of many stories. He is assigned as her guide, teaching her about the culture she must now live in. He makes sure she doesn't get lost, and shows her the new world. Literally one cuss word. Get over it. The three men that were standing next to the truck talking were the most impressive things she has ever seen. The youngest looking one was blonde with green eyes, and you could see through his tight shirt that he must work out a lot. The next guy had a sandy blonde colored hair and his eyes looked to be brown, she couldn't be sure since she only got a quick glimpse before he turned to talk to the last man. The last man was taller than the others; he looked as he would be the oldest of the three. He had dark black hair and blue eyes. Not the sky blue like her eyes, these were like a dark sapphire blue something that she had never seen before. She could see every muscle of his arms and chest through his tight shirt. She found herself gawking at the man and had to make herself turn away and close her mouth that was obviously hanging open in surprise. Don't get yourself all worked up, it's probably just the moving guys. The people who move in are probably going to be an old grumpy couple that never wants company she told herself. At the same time she couldn't stop wishing that she was wrong and that these men were going to be her new next door neighbors.

But due to responsibilities taken at such a young age they forgot what's love and didn't wanted to get involved in such stuffs, until each got a ray of sunlight in their ice cold life. Let's see if they will accept the fact and learn to love or their life will remain the same or even get more destroyed....
