They are struggling to just keep food on the table and are on the verge of getting kicked out of their small attic flat. He feels like everything is spiraling out of control until Bill Cipher, a man obviously of higher money and class, comes to Dipper with an insane idea. One that only a crazy person would ever consider possible.
