A Carrier is designed for one thing: keep themselves alive for their Commanders.
Nyla is Supreme Commander Leer's genetically designed Carrier. She knows everything about him: his fears, personality, likes, memories, knowledge, and most importantly, his genetic make-up. Everything is stored in the chip lodged in her head, ready for quick retrieval if the worst should happen to him.
It's for this very reason Carriers are highly protected. Yet danger still lurks, especially after last year's assassination of a fellow Carrier and Nyla's friend at the hands of radicals. Nyla is next on the hit list, but they aren't looking to kill her-they're going to force her to kill her Supreme Commander.
