Love isn't real, it's just some bullshit word for people who like to sleep with one another. Meet Maesie, a sarcastic girl with anxiety problems. She's not your sun kissed babe with curves in all the right places, unfortunately she seems to be stuck in her 12 year old girl body with gnarled brown hair and figity hands. Her busy Mother sends her from Ohio to Rhode Island for the Summer to go live with her Aunt and Uncle. Her Aunt Connie gets her a job at the local marina, Maesie doesnt want her job due to her awkward behavior. However it seems her choice is invaild. Maesie clumsily brings breakfast and lunch to loving familys and sweet couples along the seaside although she'd rather be sitting in bed with a bag of chips and her laptop. One day quiet morning, she brings a guy his order and leaves, just as she would with any other customer. But he wasn't just another customer. Maesie wasn't one to swoon over guys but he was capitvating, seeming almost as lost in the world as she was with furrowed eyebrows and eyes that seems to look straight through you. Maesie believes she'll never see meet him again but events happen and she finds herself his appearance once again. She trys to pry herself into his life and ends up with emotions she has never felt before. On the inside she's imploding like someone has stuck explosives into her brain and lit a match but what people see from the outside is just another basket case.
