now, before you dismiss this and go on scrolling or flipping or whatever it is you do, this isn't your normal teen werewolf romance story...so it IS about werewolves, and it IS a romance story line, but it isn't all kissy-kissy ikky-ikky
not to mention its also based off of a children's fairy tale...
Something about that twinkle in his eye and the slight accent in his voice rung a bell. My mind flashed (as if it has a mind of its own hehe, get it? no...oh...okay) back to the first time I ventured out alone, it was on a particularly cold fall morning, the dew drops had frozen over crackling leaves and the squirrels were going high speed preparing. They often reminded me off teachers on the last few days of school, hair frizzy and a coffee mug in hand as they tried to heard all the students into their classrooms. I was strolling down the path, humming "Lips are Moving" by Meghan Trainor, and everything had been going well until I heard a slight whimper and noticed a clump of fur grayish brown caught on a nearby bush. My eyes had traveled beneath the bush to find a shivering heap of soft grey and brown fur, a wolf pup! I had realized with a gasp. Quickly looking around to check for any angry mama's, I remember sliding the blanket off the bead I was bringing to grandmother's and tucking it around the baby. And staying there until his shivering stopped.
"well, that went" I had whispered smiling at the curled up form before me. Right then, I heard a grow. A bloodcurdling close grows. "Crap, spoke too soon" I turned slowly to see another wolf, this one considerably older, with the exact calculating stare the boy before me had given a second ago, and the exact hair, or would it be fur? and the EXACT same bright yellow eyes.
But that was impossible, there's NO WAY I'm standing in front of some werewolf, I've just been reading WAY too many werewolf novels lately...right?

I shuddered. It had never been so dark, nor so quiet before. There was always the light of the moon to guide me. The sound of the wind against the trees. I shook the thought from my mind and continued further into the wood. Then I saw it. A white light spread across the ground in front of me. The clouds had parted from where they were, revealing the moon at its fullest. I stared in awe. It had never been so bright. The ambiance began to come back. The wind began to dance with the trees. I closed my eyes. The scent of oak filled my nose and exhaled through my mouth. The aroma filled me with exhilaration. It filled me with something I couldn't explain. I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time. Although it was something I wasn't used to feeling, I craved it deeply. I felt happy. I felt as if nothing else mattered than this moment. I opened my eyes. Everything seemed clearer. I could see the particles of dust flying in the beam of light that shone around me. I wanted to stay here for longer. I wanted this moment to last forever. Until I saw the wolf. It was hidden among the fold of trees behind me. It stared at me in aggravation. It's brows furrowed in my direction. It's face, livid with anger, revealed a set of unpleasant and sharp teeth. It began to move slightly forward. The wolf bounded towards me. It happened so quickly I had no time to react. It's limbs outstretched. It's teeth bared. My body, paralyzed from fear, refused to move. My lip quivered, urged to call for help, but no help would come. I was too deep into the woods. No one would hear my screams. The thought was soon interrupted by the wolf's teeth digging into my side.Complete

I chase away any bad or worried thoughts because this place seemed so sacred it did not allow them. I breath in and catch the sweet scent of lavender flowers that speckled the ground in little clumps and the dry smell of dirt that hadn't been rained on in a couple of day. I listen to the steady titters of birds as they fly from tree to tree, collecting little twigs and leaves to build their nests with. I listen to the buzz of the bees greedily feasting on the flowers that scattered around the dry forest floor. I open my eyes to take in the scenery, rays of sunlight filter through the green canopy, penetrating through the leaves and casting a green-yellow effulgence over the ground that wavers as the trees rustle in the light whispers of wind. The crunching of dry leaves under my feet alert me so I cast my eyes to the floor and watch as I step on each individual leaf and dry twig, enjoying the snapping sounds that echo through the near silent forest. Gnarly roots dip into ground and twisted branches reach down, fingers grasping the air, as if reaching for me and I shiver, thinking of my father. I cast my eyes up to think of something else and instantly calm as another puff of breeze rustles the leaves on the trees and ground gently. I look ahead and notice the steady thinning of the old trees and run towards it, loving the feeling of the air in my air and clothes. I spot what I think is light dancing on waters surface and sprint for it. Then I break through the trees, making it to the lake.Complete
