The Race

They'd lived there since they could remember. Never moved away, other than to move to a less battered house. Never had any new people show up. It all stayed the same. Never changing - except for the fact that people would just disappear. One minute they would be there and the next they were gone.

The people that were taken were usually adults and the only reason that others could think for their being taken was that they had questioned everything too much. That's what would happen if you went looking for answers or talked a little too much about your opinions.

Only now, there is a new way out.
