Dean got into an accident and was most likely going to die, but a miracle happens and Dean lives but for some reason he can't see colors any more, all he sees is a grayscale of it so they all look dull. As time progresses, Dean still never got used to the same black and white filter of the world. All he wanted was to see colors again. One day, Dean notices a student who was filled with colors. That student ended up being Castiel, the angel who saved Dean but did not restore his eyesight to normal. When Cas first found Dean, he cured him and became his guardian angel for quite some time and he eventually fell in love with him. One day, Dean finally got the guts to talk to Castiel and suddenly his world was full of colors. When Dean is not around Cas, the world goes back to black and white.

The man in the apartment building across from Cas' -and the same floor (as their kitchens both faced the same way), with the dirty blonde hair and the deep green eyes, would always wake up at six in the morning and brew himself a cup of coffee with those weird and colorful cups he would always collect. He was always too tired to look up from that darn coffee machine to notice Cas, but Castiel sure as hell noticed him. With that bed hair that would decorate the top of his head every morning and Cas would pray for the attractive man to look up and notice him. Cas tried, and oh did he try, to stop staring at the green-eyed man, but after a while, it kind of became a reflex; to wake up, go to the kitchen, brew himself a cup of coffee and then just look up to see the man across the street from him doing exactly the same -except for looking up at Cas. Dean's about to start medical school and he has been assigned a dorm room. With a roommate. As he and Sam head up to his new room he gets an ominous warning from the guy down the hall about Dean's new roommate. It unnerves Sam, but Dean thinks the guy can't be that bad. Right? Dean and Sam grew up happy with BOTH parents in this one. I thought about how to approach this one for quite a while before I actually started writing it. I thought, how can I get this to make sense? Why would a roommate run away? And then this came to me. So, for those of you that don't know, I based a lot of Cas' personality, quirks, and traits on myself since I have Asperger's. While I don't color coordinate my shirts in the closet, they DO have to all face the same direction, and I have more sensory issues than I'll bore you with here. I mention Dean's sensory issues as well here. While he doesn't show actual traits of Asperger's, he's on the spectrum too, and people on the spectrum still have related issues. The bluntness of Cas' questions are something that I did more often when I was younger, and a reason why people singled me out as weird or a freak. I had great difficulty distinguishing between when people were joking and making fun of me (therefore people thought I was stupid, and I was called as much, despite my higher IQ), so I tended to keep to myself. I still have difficulty initiating conversations, and my reaction to going into places like the party that will be mentioned here is much the same as I made Cas react. Parallels, as you'll notice.

Charlie, being the good friend she is throws a party and invites Cas. There's an interesting guy there that catches Cas' eye. Sweet fluff ensues, and it's soon after that Dean learns Cas' biggest secret. He is also faced with emotions he has never felt before, especially in regards to Cas. He finds himself jealous and angry when he sees Cas with Luke, and at his brother's suggestion he decides to confront his true feelings for his best friend, and tell him how he really feels. There is a lot of pain and heartache in the beginning for Cas, but I swear it ends on a good note. I hope you all enjoy!

Dean Winchester lived on Maple Road in a small town in Indiana. His younger, much taller brother, Sam, lived on Creek circle the next town over. His father was an old drunk constantly in hospitals and jails from being over intoxicated. He had his old uncle Bobby there as a father figure but he lived three states away, making him hard to see often. Now both brothers were quite lonely despite the girlfriends they both had. Dean had Lisa, a women who has short term memory loss. Sam has Jess who was getting sick with fevers from left and right. Both Winchester boys were sick of all of this work. Dean with having to deal with taking Lisa out on first dates almost every week to try and spark her memory. Then Sam constantly in the hospital because Jess was burning up. They also had to deal with there jobs, the older one worked at his mechanics shop, the younger was a lawyer. Now both were planning on spending Christmas alone. Dean in the shop and Sam in his library. Christmas was never something they could get into, everything was just too canny. But then they both get some new neighbors and began to discover some feelings they never knew were there.
