"How do you know I'd want to spend more time with you? You're rude, arrogant, and you've been breathing in the salt air for far too long!" She told me. Ouch. That one hurt.

"Because it seems you struggle staying away from my surf shop anyways." I told her nonchalantly. "Face it New York, you want me. You don't care about that boy you have in the city because he doesn't make you feel like I do. No one ever had and I doubt anyone will.

Colby Thomas loved summer. I mean why wouldn't he when he lived in paradise? The unspoken rules of Crystal Island were keep island secrets a secret and never fall in love with someone from out of town. Colby had never had a problem following them until Rose Beckett came to the island for the summer.

Her dark hair matched her dark eyes, and her intensity drove Colby mad. She was a total snob who came with a ton of mommy-daddy issues, and Colby didn't have time for that. But he couldn't find it within him to leave her alone. The only problem was that she was from New York, and that made her someone from out of town.

I hated Blue for almost 10 years. It took me 72 hours to fall in love with her. Even though it might seem unusual for a 17 year old, I have a habit of timing things. In 6th grade it took me 2 hours to stand on the boogie board without falling on the water. Almost 5 days to read 'Dracula' in freshman year and 7 days to gather courage and ask a girl called Mary to go out with me. 12 minutes to set up an Instagram account and half an hour to organize my room every time we come to Cousins. Honestly, I don't know why I do it. To make my dad's watch or maybe to get a sense of control. Regardless of the motive, I've done it since I was a kid. The numbers make sense, I was afraid of falling so it took me a while to learn to stand confidently on the board, afraid of being rejected so it took me a whole week to ask a girl out. But I can't, for the love of my sanity, explain what happened this past week. Ellie is someone I never liked, since the day she compared me to Sid, from the Ice Age, things between us have been a war zone. I can't help it, she gets under my skin like no one else ever did. So I'd like to understand why, while we were stuck together during a storm, it took me just 72 hours to fall in love with her. -- 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' fanfiction. Ellie is my OC and belongs to me but anything associated with TSITP doesn't. Mature themes such as death, abandonment trauma, depression, and sickness are explored. Proceed with caution.

'Fuck you,' I breathed, pulling away from the kiss, searching his eyes. He was enjoying it. 'If you keep saying that, maybe you will someday,' he teased, his fingers going into the waistband. I won't give him the satisfaction that I'm enjoying this. 'Feisty, huh?' he taunted, before his fingers slipped to my folds. I could feel my wetness coating his fingers, and I hated myself for getting so wet because of him. ──── ୨୧ ──── Four years ago, he shattered her dignity with a joke at a pool party Not just anyone - her brother's best friend. Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. She wouldn't be able to stand the attention of everyone around her. That's why she won't tell Ryan Bloore, her crush for three years, that she practically worships the ground he walks on. Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.

"You grew up better than I imagined." The guy said to me and smirked.
