Castiel and Dean go to the same high school. Castiel is an outcast he doesn't like people and gets bullied almost everyday. He is a 'freak'.
We all know the story of Dean and Sam Winchester. Instead of hunting supernatural they just hunt the natural.
In this reality, Dean hasn't really got a place he doesn't feel comfortable with the popular group. But he's too popular for any other group.

Their Dad was almost always gone and if he was there, there was yelling and a lot of getting punched. In school Dean acted the bad boy but when he was alone his world broke together. He was soft and hurt. Even though he was Sam's protector. Never would he ever let anything happen to Sammy. He took blame for stuff Sammy did just to keep him safe. Safe from their Dad.
