Shane and Drew were inseparable. Both of them had been shoulder to shoulder for their whole childhood ever since they were in the orphanage together, playing together and looking after each other in the way that the family they were both lacking would. Life was indeed their playground and they could simply cannot imagine life without their fellow Timid by their side.

Drew is broken. He blames himself for everything that went wrong in his life, including his parents death. He takes out his pain the only way he knows how, by cutting into his skin when he thinks everyone else is asleep. He has kept this secret for two years, even from his timid.
