A little over a year has passed since Loki was sent back to Asgard to be imprisoned for crimes against Earth, and already a new threat has come up. Aliens with yellow cat-like eyes and the ability to grow additional arms and silver claws are invading, in search of one thing: a sixteen-year-old girl from a small town in Iowa. With no inclination as to why she's the target, S.H.I.E.L.D. sends in the Avengers team to grab her and bring her to New York. Nick Fury's ultimate plan is to keep her in the dark about everything that's unfolding around them. But when it all starts to hit the fan, his plan is going to crumble around him.

Kristy Monet, nicknamed Mo by pretty much everyone, never wanted to go to New York. She wanted to stay behind in small town Iowa with her family and friends and try to win the heart of her three-year crush, Brendon. But the Avengers promise her that she'll be safer if she goes along with them. She quickly joins their ranks and catches the eye of a fellow team member, not that she realizes it. But she does realize that there's a secret they're not telling her. One fateful night at a masquerade party, it all comes tumbling out. Mo must now decide whether her own safety is worth sticking around.

In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.

Cassidy Martin didn't ask for any of this, and she doesn't want it. Her powers came to her by an accident, a fluke, and now they're threatening to ruin her life. But she can control metal now. She can turn invisible. She can fly. And she has no idea what to do about it. When Cassidy stumbles into the world of the Avengers, she has two choices. She can run from herself, or she can embrace what she is. And maybe along the way she can teach another lost soul to embrace himself as well. Loki. He was sure he was a villain, then he wasn't quite sure what he was, and now he may only be sure of her. But what is sure is that something much bigger than all of them is threatening the home they love, and its name is Thanos. So, she now has the superpowers and the Avengers at her back, but don't be fooled. Cassidy Martin is no hero. She couldn't even save herself. A/N: This story takes place a few months after the events of Civil War, and right after Ragnarok (so before Infinity War). This story is in a lot of ways my replacement to Infinity War.
