This is a retyped version of the fruits basket fan fiction I made last year. It will make better sense and it's in third person view. Enjoy the new update!
Umeko wasn't an ordinary Sohma. She was originally supposed to be the rooster of the zodiac, but due to a fatal spreading illness, she gave away her zodiac sign. She was replaced with another animal that was always secretly hidden, that was supposed to be the replacement of the rooster of the zodiac. It was never spoken of, never paid attention to. It was even left out of the story. Basically, a secret never to spilled.
But that all changes. Her parents commit suicide, and Umeko is sent to live with her unstable uncle, who is very abusive towards her. She runs off at the age of 7, and after seeing a strange house in the woods, she realizes she's not alone.
