In a world still recovering from civil war, everyone plays a part in maintaining the peace. 

The Royals compete for the favor of the people, and the power that comes with it. The Kindred carry the burdens of everyday life, producing every resource a person could ever need. The Guard defends them all, both from outside forces and each other.

Genesis has never questioned her role as a member of the Guard, but she can't say the same for others. Born into one group and assigned to another, most assume that she is incapable of keeping up-- her lineage marks her as a priestess, not a fighter. She's done her best to prove them wrong, but from the day she graduates and is assigned to serve as a bodyguard for an important politician, it's clear that their expectations may be more than she can handle. Not only that, but the more tangled she becomes in her country's political system, the more apparent it becomes that things aren't quite as peaceful as they seem.

I was 13 when I began this book, and am now taking the time to go back to completely rewrite it, and maybe just publish someday~ I'm 15 and my name is Astrix. Let's start with that. That seems like an easy thing to start with. Now, let me add in some other details. I live in a zombie apocalypse. Yeah, that's about as enjoyable as I can make it seem. Now let me add in something else. I'm wanted by the CIA for reasons that I don't even know, but I guess I will find out eventually. Maybe somewhere within my story I will figure it out. I'm well known as The Bad Ass for reasons that are kind of obvious once you meet me. Maybe that's why they're after me? Because I'm a Bad Ass? Nope, I doubt that. Well anyways, the answers are out there. Along with the answers to my past. The answer to life even. Maybe it really is 42 but I don't think it would hurt to start looking at one. So here we go. A dystopian story in which people have unnatural powers Lorelai Walters can't remember much of her past. She's always lived on the streets, she never knew home. Then one day, some soldiers turn up in a shopping center where she's staying for the night. They take her to a place where more teenagers live. It's nothing like a home. There, they have to train, though nobody knows what for. When Lorelai decides not to do what she's being told and take things in her own hands, she doesn't know what awaits her. As she tries to escape the people trying to use her-and many others-for their plans, for the first time, she gets the chance to find out what happened to this destroyed and abandoned world-and maybe also about her past. English isn't my first language, so I'd be happy to receive some criticism and also tips. I'd like to know if my story is interesting, so I know if I should go on and how to improve it :) I know, my writing isn't so good in the beginning, but I think it gets better throughout the story.
